Gong Xi Fa Cai!!!
The Fire Rooster soars in as the Year of the Fire Monkey left us with a bang! Yes, roosters do not fly; some dub the Fire Rooster as the Phoenix – which can fly. :-p
Just as the year ended, I was in Singapore for a business meeting. I have to say I am amazed by how much travelling I encountered in the last lunar year: Jakarta (work), Kota Kinabalu (work), Krabi (annual vacation), Ipoh (first road trip), and Singapore (work). More importantly, I never thought I’d be in Business Class – Kota Kinabalu (Malindo Air) & Singapore (Singapore Airlines)! Excuse my sakai-ness. I usually travel in economy or on budget airlines.
As the analogy goes, never underestimate the undercurrents below the calm surface. 2017 and the Year of the Fire Rooster have a lot in store. Our managing director cautioned us last year that we are gearing ourselves for the Olympics. The bars are being pushed higher. As one also responsible for both business development, I look forward to find ways to create more opportunities and understanding of how we help prospects achieve their goals. Equally important is my portfolio for project delivery: ensuring that clients and partners are not just satisfied by our delivery, but can use them to improve communications, strategy, and – possibly – operations.
On a more personal front, I am also pushing myself this year to meet my career goals I set for myself. Besides that, I am also preparing for a location independent lifestyle with that special someone who I’d like to share my happiness with, and vice versa.
To achieve that aim, I’m restarting an old passion: writing and blogging. I’m learning new technical skills:
- Social media marketing: Facebook, Google, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram et al.
- Social listening
- Thought leadership event management
- Video and audio editing for Udemy & YouTube
- Open Data and data analytics
- Blogging
- LinkedIn marketing
- Copywriting
- Script writing
- Public relations writing
- Dropshipping the Anton Kraly method: https://www.dropshiplifestyle.com/
According to my BaZi, I’m in my 3rd luck pillar: Xin Metal + Ox. The Ox, with the Goat, is my ‘Noble People Star’ or 贵人. I’ll let Dato’ Joey Yap explain the function of the star:
Every 10 years, the luck pillar changes, i.e. when I turn 38 (Gregorian). Time is really running out for me. To help you understand why I need to rush, let me put it this way: For some, their Noblemen star appears in their first luck pillar – suggesting noble or well off birth.
Also, this year I am also looking inside: I’m glad to found happiness in many things that I do. I would like to share that happiness with someone; and hopefully that special someone would share their happiness with me. 😀
Allow me to end this entry by saying:
May the Fire Rooster herald in plenty of opportunities and possibilities to you and your loved one; may you find health, wealth, love, passion, and connection with yours. Gong Xi Fa Cai. Xin Nien Kuai Le! Huat ah!
